EMI has launched a partnership with South Korean company Sejin

EMI is working with South Korean company Sejin to offer solutions by Estonian companies to the leading Korean accommodation system provider in some exciting projects. EMI has had the pleasure of working with Sejin on the Isle of Man Steam Packet Ro-Pax Ferry Project and recently also started working on the Kiwi Rail Project.

Sejin is a leading turnkey supplier of accommodation systems for marine and offshore in Asia, providing everything from design and manufacturing to installation, testing and commissioning of accommodation. Throughout history, the company has worked on 2921 ships in total.

According to Sejin representative Daniel Kaarbo, many of the projects in Korea are built for European shipowners, therefore it makes sense to partially use European products and partners. “We started working with Estonian companies due to the impression that they are potentially able to provide similar quality at a more competitive price compared to for example suppliers from UK, Norway, Italy or France,” Kaarbo said.

Even though Sejin hasn´t yet worked with EMI for long, the first impressions have been good, encouraging Sejin to include Estonians in Kiwi Rail project as well. “EMI was involved in the IOM Steam Packet project and based on that I would describe Estonian companies as proactive, usually quick to respond and giving their very best to offer alternative solutions,” Kaarbo added.

For both of the ongoing cooperation projects with EMI, Sejin is providing turnkey accommodation, including design, production, supply, installation, testing and commissioning. “For the already finished IOM Steam packet project, Estonian companies provided solutions for fixed and loose furniture, decorative lighting, hard core panels and lamination as well as sanitary fittings. Even though the Kiwi Rail project is still at its early stages, similar assistance could be provided through EMI for that project as well,” Kaarbo described the partnership.

Sejin manufacturers prefabricated cabins, wall- and ceiling panels, doors and furniture. The company has 33 years of experience offering products and solutions to customers in Korea and elsewhere. The company has over 300 employees and 3 factories situated in South Korea. The company is ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 18001, ISO 45001 certified by DNV GL.
